The Emergency Water Supply Project for Erbil City has a production capacity of 20,000 cubic metres per hour, equivalent to 480,000 cubic metres daily.
Works commenced on 20 July 2024.

The project comprises several key components:
- A water intake unit on the Greater Zab River,
- A pumping system conveying water to the treatment plant, where it undergoes multi-stage purification and filtration, followed by disinfection,
- Treated water is then transferred via dual pipelines to the main distribution unit in Sebiran.
From this unit, purified water is distributed through four primary pipelines to Erbil City.

In the completed phase, potable water is supplied to 7 neighbourhoods along the 120 Metre Ring Road outer layer (stretching from the Mosul Road sector to Kasnazan Road). These include:
Baghlo Minara, Azza, Qatawi, Jiyan, Dartu, Binsilawa, and Hasarok.

The project utilises world-class materials, with water quality meeting the highest international standards in accordance with World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines.

The pipeline infrastructure consists of:
- Carbon steel pipes (200 km),
- High-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes (400 km),
Totalling 600 km with diameters ranging from 1,600 mm to 110 mm.
