Precast (also known as “prefabricated”) construction relates to buildings where the majority of the structural components are produced in plants located away from the building itself, then transported to the site for assembly. These components are manufactured using industrial mass production methods that allow for a large number of buildings to be constructed in a short time and at low cost. The main features of this construction process are as follows:

  • Division and specialization of the human workforce.
  • Automated use of tools, machinery, and other equipment in the production of standard, interchangeable parts and products.
  • Compared to site-cast concrete, precast concrete erection is faster and less affected by adverse weather conditions.
  • Plant casting allows for increased efficiency, better quality control and greater control of finishes.

The aim of this process is to improve and speed up construction. This requires a restructuring of the conventional construction process to enable interaction between the design phase and production planning. Address: Kawrgosk Road, Khabat, Erbil, Iraq Production capacity: 300 meters in length
